Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts

A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after March of the previous year.

The win also means Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.

He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.

The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he secured the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
