I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
