2K Games has secured a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently developing the anticipated over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as Project Ethos.
Leadership Change Follows Poor Reception
Brinkman takes on the role of studio head at the development studio following the exit of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' underwhelming early showing last autumn.
Recently, the company's top executive a key figure informed team members about this organizational change through an official communication, which emphasized that playtesting had shown the need for a more defined vision.
The president noted that the team is now refining Project Ethos with a renewed vision, aiming to address gamer demands.
Trend of Key Recruitment
The news follows a similar move taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they brought on an industry veteran from the Diablo team to work on the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

Dear Team—
I understand you all just wrapped up your gathering - I hope you’re as thrilled as I am with the recent updates. Previously I shared you all a note, I stated the following: “I am confident in this group. You all are some of the most dedicated and talented creators we have had the chance to collaborate with - and we’re excited for that relationship to continue.”
Through your commitment and versatility, especially over the past twelve months, you consistently demonstrate that.

The belief in Project ETHOS strengthens every day. To boost the outstanding development you’ve made, I’m excited to welcome the new hire as the latest Director of 31st Union. Following several months of discussions, he starts with us on the specified date.
